What is Teeth Whitening?

Teeth whitening is a cosmetic dental procedure that involves removing stains and discoloration from the teeth to improve their appearance. This is achieved by using a bleaching agent that is applied to the teeth and activated with a special light.

How long does the treatment take?

The treatment usually takes around 60-90 minutes, depending on the extent of the staining and discoloration on your teeth.

Is there any special preparation required before the treatment?

There are a few things you can do to prepare for your Teeth Whitening appointment. Firstly, it’s recommended to brush and floss your teeth thoroughly before your appointment. You should also avoid consuming any staining substances, such as coffee, tea, red wine, and tobacco, for at least 24 hours prior to your appointment. Be sure to schedule your teeth whitening after any dental work, including routine cleanings.

How long does the Teeth Whitening last?

Teeth whitening can last up to 6-12 months, depending on your individual oral hygiene habits and dietary habits. It’s important to maintain good oral hygiene and avoid consuming staining substances to prolong the results.

Is there any downtime after the treatment?

There is no downtime required after the Teeth Whitening treatment. However, you may experience some sensitivity in your teeth and gums for a short period after the treatment, but this usually subsides within a few hours.

Can I still eat and drink after the treatment?

Yes, you can still eat and drink after the Teeth Whitening treatment. However, it’s recommended to avoid consuming any staining substances, such as coffee, tea, red wine, and tobacco, for at least 24 hours after the treatment to allow the whitening to fully set. Drinking through a straw during this time is also recommended.

How should I take care of my teeth after the treatment?

To maintain the results of your Teeth Whitening treatment, it’s recommended to maintain good oral hygiene habits, such as brushing and flossing your teeth regularly. You should also avoid consuming staining substances and maintain a healthy diet to avoid further discoloration. Additionally, you may consider periodic touch-up treatments to maintain the results.

How often can I have Teeth Whitening?

It’s recommended to wait at least 6-12 months between Teeth Whitening treatments to allow your teeth to fully recover and for the bleaching agent to wear off. However, this may vary depending on your individual oral hygiene habits and dietary habits.
